U.S. Supreme Court Denies Trump Administration’s Appeal on DACA

The Trump Administration’s appeal to U.S. Supreme Court was denied on Monday over the issue of Federal Judge William Alsup’s decision favoring the continued operation of the Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program while the main case is pending in Court. The decision dealt another blow to the Administration’s efforts to stop accepting renewal applications by DACA’s young beneficiaries. The Supreme Court, in addition, ordered the Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco to proceed expeditiously in deciding whether the Trump Administration arbitrarily terminated the DACA program that will expose to arrest or deportation more than 700,000 young undocumented immigrants temporarily living and working in the U.S.
