Trump and Democrats to Compromise on “Bill of Love” for DACA Recipients

President Trump met with Democrat Congress leaders on Tuesday to find a compromise deal on legislation for 800,000 Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients. The DACA is an Obama-era program that allows young undocumented immigrants who were brought into the U.S. as children to temporarily live and work in the U.S. The DACA program was rescinded last year by the Trump Administration leaving 800,000 DACA recipients exposed to deportation if no DACA legislation is enacted by Congress before March 5, 2018.

To legislate a DACA law, however, comes at a price with Republicans and President Trump demanding that a border wall be constructed at the U.S.-Mexico border, the elimination of the visa lottery program, and the end to the family chain migration.
