Under the leadership of Ms. Madrid Crost, the firm reached its twentieth anniversary on June 11, 2016. Inspired by her personal immigration experience with a working visa, Ms. Madrid Crost vowed to help fellow immigrants by concentrating her practice in immigration law.
As an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), Ms. Madrid Crost served as the 2012-2013 National Chair of the AILA Consumer Protection and Unauthorized Practice of Law (UPL) Action Committee. During her tenure, she led UPL liaisons from the 38 AILA chapters around the country. Ms. Madrid Crost is actively involved in the continuing education efforts of AILA’s international chapters. In May 2016, Ms. Madrid Crost was a speaker at the Rome District Chapter’s conference in Vienna, Austria. Part of the conference was a tour of the U.S. Embassy in Manila, where practitioners had an opportunity to experience a simulated visa interview before visa officers.
Over the years, Ms. Madrid Crost has been active in various capacities. She has been active in the AILA Chicago Chapter and served as chair of its Media, Worksite Enforcement, and Social Committees. She also joined colleagues to advocate for immigration reform during the National Day of Action at the U.S. Congress. Presently, she chairs AILA Chicago’s Law Practice Management Committee.
She is a founding member and past president of the former Filipino American Bar Association (FABA), a precursor of the Filipino American Lawyers Association (FALA) Chicago, and a member of the official U.S. Delegation to the Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) SME Summit.
