Diversity Visa / Visa Lottery

The Diversity Immigrant Visa Program (also known as Visa Lottery) allows 50,000 diversity visas to be available from individuals who are from countries with low rates of immigration to the U.S.  The Department of State determines which individuals will receive the diversity visa through an online entry registration from October through December each year.  A visa lottery winner must see to it that consular process or adjustment of status is completed before the end of the fiscal year that they participated in.

How do I qualify for this? The applicant must be from an eligible country and must have completed high school education or 12-year course of elementary and secondary education. At least two years of work experience for the past five years in an occupation that requires at least two years training must also be met.
