Afia Yunus earned her Juris Doctor degree with a Certificate in Public Interest at the Chicago-Kent College of Law with Cum Laude distinction in 2010. She earned her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice from the University of Illinois at Chicago with Magna Cum Laude distinction in 2007. She is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and admitted before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Prior to joining the firm, Mrs. Yunus practiced family and land use laws and general civil litigation. She currently serves on the Zoning Committee for the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago and is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and American Bar Association.  She is likewise a member of the Planning Committee for the National Lawyers’ Guild Chicago TUPOCC.
